Questions about CINIER radiators
How does a CINIER Olycale radiator work?
Every CINIER radiator is studied and designed to deliver exceptional heating comfort. Their technology rests on 3 essential qualities:
Olycale® stone: a natural white stone from the Pyrenees, Olycale® stone is crushed then specifically restructured in the Cinier workshops so that it emits highly efficient heat.
With an inertia close to that of cast iron, Olycale® stone has incomparable radiant properties that give a gentle, very even warmth.
They run in complete silence.
What is the heating principle?
The thermal mass effect (also known as inertia):
The thermal mass of Olycale® stone provides an 'accumulation' and 'smoothing' function for heat emission. It releases a 'gentle warmth' that is enveloping and continuous, keeping the room at the right temperature at all times while giving you exceptional comfort.
Low temperature:
The large surface of the radiators and their precise regulation make it possible to heat at low temperature without any movement of air (completely silent operation). The room's air is not dried out; it is healthier and more pleasant to breathe.
This low-temperature radiant heat avoids convection (a source of heat loss). It creates no dust and preserves the humidity level needed for good air quality and good health.
What pressure can CINIER hot water radiators withstand?
For central heating installations with a boiler and water circulation:
Heating element:
In the central heating version, the heating element of CINIER radiators is made of solid copper tubes, coated with a specific anti-corrosion and anti-expansion process for perfect silence and reliability.
Tested at 25 bar, CINIER radiators can have a working pressure of up to 10 bar (pressures in European homes are generally between 2 and 5 bar). The copper heating element, around 50 metres per radiator, is perfectly balanced, exceptionally solid and ensures optimal hot water circulation.
The heating element is then fully embedded in the Olycale stone through an exclusive technological process. In this way it heats the whole surface and the very mineral mass of the radiator from within, which radiates a natural, long-lasting warmth.
All CINIER hydraulic radiators are tested to the EN442-2 standard by a recognised independent laboratory. Their quality is checked and guaranteed.
How do you connect a CINIER hot water radiator to the plumbing?
Connection:
Where possible, plan for recessed supply outlets to avoid visible pipework.
The technical connection diagram and the centre-to-centre dimensions are supplied on request.
Provide flow and return connection points with a ½ male elbow fitting.
The connections are made with flexible hoses (supplied with elbow, fittings and tightening key).
An Oventrop thermostatic valve and a lockshield valve are also supplied with each appliance.
CINIER's distinctive innovation:
The valve and the connections are concealed behind the appliance to fully preserve the look of each Cinier creation.
How are the power outputs of CINIER hot water radiators calculated?
Power outputs:
Power outputs are calculated in accordance with the European standard EN 442-2 at delta T 50 (average heating water temperature of 70°C for a room temperature of 20°C). They are tested by a recognised independent laboratory.
On request, we can also give you the power outputs for a delta T 60 (average heating water temperature of 80° for a room temperature of 20°) or a delta T 30 (average heating water temperature of 50° for a room temperature of 20°). For other delta T values, please ask us for the CINIER power output catalogue.
How do Cinier electric radiators work?
Heating element:
The heating element of CINIER electric radiators is made from a specific double-insulated heating cable that does not deteriorate over time. The CINIER cable is distributed evenly across the whole surface of the heating element. The element is fitted with a Class II safety thermal cut-out with a 2-metre capillary, ruling out any risk of overheating.
The heating element is then fully embedded in the Olycale stone through an exclusive technological process. In this way it heats the whole surface and the very mineral mass of the radiator from within, which radiates a natural, long-lasting warmth.
All CINIER electric radiators are Class I (or Class II for towel warmers) and carry the European CE mark. Their quality and safety are checked and guaranteed.
Connection:
A single electrical supply is enough. 230V/50Hz current, standard in Europe and internationally.
Option: For export (USA or Japan), CINIER can manufacture a 120-volt or 100-volt heating element on request.
How are Cinier electric radiators controlled? Which thermostats?
2 efficient thermostat options are available for CINIER electric radiators:
By matching your radiator's power output to your real needs and lowering the room temperature by a few degrees at night or while you are away, the CINIER X3D control gives you genuine energy savings of 20 to 30%.
All Cinier radiators in the electric version carry the CE mark.
Their quality is checked and guaranteed.
